Splice Music lives on
SpliceMusic has been bought by RemixGalaxy.com – who are now promising sweet updates and great remix contests… in a matter of no time.
Great news for many of the people hanging around at Splice – although it can’t be that many. It’s been dead in dev and staff regards for a year plus.
Lost Audio can’t help wonder what this carrot chase press release will do.
RemixGalaxy.com will be unveiled in early Spring 2009, and we’ll soon be announcing a remix contest involving a major artist with great prizes. So be on the lookout! In the meantime, Splicemusic.com will remain online and supported in its current form.
A common view would be to hit hard with activities instead of promises into the future ie go public on acquisition and contests when you are geared for it – and not promise something people can’t already click on. Perhaps they are afraid that the userbase will drop and dissappear completely. One can only guess.
As of right now only thing happening on RemixGalaxy is a splash presentation and a sign up for a beta.
There is a massive need for sites based on remix culture and new music usage in general – so it’ll be fun and exciting to watch the likes of ccMixter, RemixGalaxy and HobNox grow and battle it out.
