Music Production Downloads: Free Rap Beats
Posted on 21. Jun, 2010 by Lost in Audio sites
Just a quick heads up. If you enjoy scourering the net for beats, loops and audio samples there are loads of nice places to find those instrumental samples. If you like it categorised and legal you should browse through the audio archive of iBeat.org.
I particularly like when audio is put right in front of you. No strings attached. This is exactly what iBeat is doing on their free rap beats page.
The category ‘rap beats’ is broad and the term is obviously as subjective as any music is. So you are likely to find some rap/hiphop beats you don’t enjoy, some beats you’d rather categorise RnB/Pop, to short, to long – but fact is, it’s there.
The ibeat archive is powered by two Danish guys who like sharing. Make sure you say hello, it’s easy as in leaving a comment. Mind you, they have been pouring loads of music loops into the public for years… let’s hope they continue.
The rap beats are free to use. They are tagged with Creative Commons licenses. Some are non-commercial, so be sure to check out the sample page for each entry.
I feel it compelling finding resources that deliver free upfront (you can get your teath into it / taste it) before paying anything. Most sites have few previous and are shady around what content you are actually buying… perhaps even hiding crappy content. I know the iBeat guys are not getting rich or making any money of their projects (quite the contrary). But they are helping media creators out with a great resource – and making a few young rappers happy… and that, apparently, is enough.
God bless them, and all of those free rap beats.
